Extended Metaphor Poem

Cold as Snow
The guilt is as cold as ice

Eating away my insides

I cannot bear to lift my head up high

As I walk alone on this crowded path

I apologize for the times

When I did not have the courage

To tell the truth but instead

Ignore it and to cause you so much misery

And now as I sit, weary and lonesome

On a cold winter’s night

Trying to find an answer

But the falling snow

Still reminds me of my wrongs
